Paul and Olivia Hackett
“Three members of the same family have never been picked for the British team before ..."

Paul Paul is one of the most prominent and successful names in professional Bridge today.  His numerous achievements include a World Championship title, gold, silver and bronze medals in the European Pairs, and now represents England - both at senior and open level. Paul has been a professional bridge player since leaving Trinity College Dublin in 1962, and for many years has been a leading light in the Manchester Bridge Club, probably the largest and most active in Europe.

Not content with just playing Bridge, Paul has championed the game world-wide, organised some of the world's foremost competitions, and even appeared as an expert TV pundit.

Over the years, Paul has partnered some of the best known names in Bridge, including Omar Sharif, one of the icons of the Bridge world. Mr. Sharif himself can also confirm the skills of Paul's sons, having battled and lost to the twins in 1996.

Paul is particularly proud of his family's inclusion in the British Team at the World Bridge Olympiad in Rhodes, "Three members of the same family have never been picked for the British Team before. We were picked from two million bridge players in the UK."

Olivia Olivia Hackett has been married to Paul for very many years.  She is a keen player, but not of international standard.  Her main claim to fame in the bridge world is having introduced her sons Jason and Justin to the game.
